Located among a myriad of Japanese restaurants, Hinomai Yakiniku was an awesome choice for our October Reach to Teach event! Unlike many restaurants, you have to take your shoes off before sitting down at your table. Our table was designed in traditional Japanese fashion on a raised platform with low ceilings; we had to crouch while walking to get there and sit down. The atmosphere was cozy, with seven of us sharing two BBQ’s and plate after plate of delicious beef, pork, shrimp, vegetables, and more. And of course, the all-you-can-drink keg of beer wasn’t bad either 🙂
After dinner, Carrie and John took us to a cute little iced drink stand in the Dunhua area. If you’re ever in the mood for a spiked Slurpee, this is the place you should go. After that, we walked to On Tap to meet up with more RTT friends waiting for us in the game room. I want to thank everyone who showed up; I had a lot of fun!
There will not be a November event, but we are planning a Christmas event for the beginning of December. Look out for details on Facebook!
The RTT blog is jam-packed full of stories from our teachers, advice on teaching and living abroad, tips on job interviews, teacher interviews, photo essays and more.
