Applicants often say, “It’s great reading and talking about life abroad, but what is life in Asia REALLY like?” In order to best answer such excellent questions we shot some great video of our teachers living their day to day life in Asia. Watching these videos will give you first hand insight into what your life will be like living and working as an English teacher in Asia.

Watch this short and informative video that was filmed at Reach To Teach’s Summer Meet and Greet, including video testimonials from our teachers. Although we are not able to host events anymore due to Carrie’s health, she loves staying in touch with teachers. In 2025, Reach To Teach had several teachers return to Taiwan to see the island, including Eric, Courtney, Max, and Emily. They stopped by to say hello. We loved catching up on their lives ten years later!

Rachel and Matt came to Taiwan after meeting during their year in South Korea. Matt is Canadian and Rachel is from England. They taught both kindergarten and elementary students in Taipei County, 30-40 mins outside of Taipei City. Watch their video to learn more about their life in Taiwan!

Erin and Ashley are cousins from Canada. They came to Taiwan together and taught elementary and middle school aged students. Both loved the local food and enjoyed riding their scooters and experiencing as much as possible of the local Chinese culture. Watch their video to learn more about their life in Taiwan!

Mike Cameron originally came to Taiwan through Reach To Teach in 2006. Surprise! He’s still here in Taiwan in 2025. He taught at our schools for many years and eventually decided to make Taiwan his home.

He teaches a wide age range of students from elementary to adults. Mike studies Tai Chi on a regular basis and is serious about his Mandarin studies. Watch his video to learn more about Mike’s life in Taiwan!

Honi is a certified teacher from South Africa. She taught in Taiwan for many years and now teaches in Vietnam. As a certified teacher, Honi has taught every age group. Watch Honi’s video to learn more about her life in Taiwan! We’ve loved watching Honi’s career in education take off and we still hear from her regularly.
