RTT Event Recap: Asian Fusion Night

RTT Event Recap: Asian Fusion Night

For our latest RTT event we took our teachers for an Asian fusion night in Taipei, Taiwan. We wanted to bring our teachers together for a nice sit-down meal where we can all really chat and catch up.

We began the evening at one of the best Indian curry restaurants in Taiwan in the Ximending area of Taipei. A cosy group of us sat down to break naan and get to know each other a little better. We enjoyed a table laden with Indian delights, from Samosas, naan’s, and popadoms to their infamous curry’s.

Some of the more adventurous of the group even hit up the Vindaloo, Yikes!

Once all of our belly’s were full we walked to another area of Ximending to smoke shisha (hookah). Shisha is a molasses based tobacco that is smoked in a hookah (water pipe). This was all done at a low table with soft pillows and lounge areas in an authentic shisha lounge. There is a very wide range of shisha flavors to choose from, our group went with one strawberry and another that was mint.

This event was a special one, I think we all got to know each other a little better which we did through the medium of good food, shisha and good old fashioned laughter.

If you are in Taiwan (or heading here) then be sure to check out our Reach to Teach Facebook page where you can keep up to date on our events. For our next event we are going shrimp fishing, be sure to check it out as it is a very Taiwanese thing to do.
