TEACHING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (any subject). 
  • Native-level English + at least 12 years of education where the language of instruction was English. 
  • Professional, flexible, cheerful team player. 
  • Valid driver’s license in your home country and willingness to drive in Japan (most placements). 
  • No visible tattoos/body modifications when wearing a T-shirt and athletic shorts (no hand/neck/face tattoos). 
  • Japanese ability not required; visa sponsorship available; overseas applicants welcome. 

TYPICAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach at public elementary, junior high, and senior high schools; share your culture and support communicative English lessons. 
  • Follow the school’s curriculum; collaborate with Japanese teachers of English.
  • Participate in school life (events, meetings) and community

REMUNERATION PACKAGE

  • Annual Salary: ¥2,400,000 – ¥3,000,000. 
  • Compensation Structure: Flat-rate salary with no reductions during the August and December school holidays.
  • Initial Training: Paid, comprehensive orientation before placement. 
  • Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, regular school hours (8 hours per day); evenings, weekends, and school holidays off. Annual paid holiday.
  • Visa Sponsorship: Yes (overseas applicants accepted).

  • Ongoing professional development and support. 
  • Placements available across cities and rural towns nationwide. 
  • Support with arranging housing and daily life support.
  • Enrollment in the Social Health Insurance and Pension system.

  • Typical placement locations: nationwide (various boards of education). 
  • School levels: primarily elementary and junior high. 
  • English level required: Native; Japanese level: Not necessary.
